Taking a Collective Stand Against Child Abuse in Arkansas
Every Arkansas child deserves a safe place to grow up. As the statewide chapter, Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas (CACar) strengthens the network of local child advocacy centers (CACs) and Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs) by providing essential advocacy, training, technical assistance, and leadership. While CACs and MDTs deliver direct, frontline services to children and families impacted by abuse, CACar supports their work behind the scenes—ensuring they have the tools, resources, and guidance needed to provide consistent, high-quality care across the state. Together, we work relentlessly to bring hope and healing to every child victim of abuse or neglect in Arkansas.

Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas (CACar)
Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas (CACar) is the statewide network that supports and strengthens local Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) and Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs) across Arkansas.

We provide leadership, training, advocacy, and resources—so CACs and MDTs can focus on delivering critical, child-focused care. While they serve children and families directly, we work behind the scenes to ensure every team is equipped and connected.

With 18 CACs and 64 MDTs covering 75 counties, we help ensure that every child in Arkansas has access to free, high-quality services when they need support, justice, and healing.

Together, we’re building a safer, more compassionate Arkansas.
What is a Child Advocacy Center (CAC)?
CACs provide a safe, child-focused environment where children who have experienced abuse can share their story and begin the healing process. Instead of a child undergoing multiple interviews by various agencies, CACs coordinate a single, trauma-informed interview conducted by a trained professional.
These centers also offer ongoing support services such as therapy, medical exams, and victim advocacy—all under one roof free of charge to the victim.

What is a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)?
MDTs are collaborative groups of professionals—including law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors, medical providers, mental health professionals, and CAC staff—who work together to respond to reports of child abuse.
This team approach ensures that every child receives a coordinated, effective, and compassionate response that prioritizes their safety and well-being.
